The apostle Paul illustrated that in his ministry. He spoke about one thing first, last, and in-between—the crucified Christ. Many other things called for Paul’s attention. The church at Corinth raised many complicated questions and issues. Paul wrote to them about many topics, but he kept coming back to Christ crucified.
Paul makes this connection explicit in the book of Galatians: I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me (Gal , emphasis added). The Crucified God is an amazing theological statement about the work of the cross of Jesus Christ and is a must read for serious theologians. The only critique I have is the occasional tendency of Moltmann to be repetitive, which is only frustrating due to the depth of the text/5.
In this book, he shows that on the cross of Jesus, God is most fully revealed to mankind. Today, we call this "cruciform theology" and Moltmann was a pioneer of this way of thinking about God. Reading this book is an act of discipline, or scholastic investigation, and most importantly, an act of worship of the crucified Christ/5(34).

"This powerful book on the atonement is deeply informed by classic theological categories, but it lets biblical exposition take the lead. Macleod focuses on Scripture's presentation of the death of Christ, and shows his readers―I nearly said audience, because this is the best sort of preaching―the full sense and significance of Christ crucified."/5(13).
In other words, we are dead to our lusts. We have received power to do this by taking this stand of faith: dead with Christ, crucified with Christ. “I have been crucified with Christ; it The Crucified Christ book no longer I who live, The Crucified Christ book Christ lives in me.” Galatians If Paul could believe that he was crucified with Christ, it must be possible for us too.
Penetrating and unflinching in its insistence on Jesus Christ, condemned, crucified, dead, and buried, this book powerfully demonstrates that this is good news of cosmic and comprehensive scope.” Bishop Robert Barron "One of the most stimulating and thought-provoking books of theology that I have read in the past ten years Cited by: 1.
An extended discussion on the subject is found in Romans – Since no believer was literally crucified with Christ, the phrase crucified with Christ is symbolic for a spiritual truth. Galatians is a key passage: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

The crucifixion of Jesus occurred in 1st-century Judea, most likely between AD 30 and Jesus' crucifixion is described in the four canonical gospels, referred to in the New Testament epistles, attested to by other ancient sources, and is established as a historical event confirmed by non-Christian sources, although there is no consensus among historians on the exact on: Judea, Roman Empire.

"This is Jrgen Moltmann's best and therefore most important book. He has substantially changed the central thrust of his theology without sacrificing its most vital element, its passionate concern for alleviation of the world's suffering." -Langdon Gilkey "The Crucified God rewards, as it demands, the reader's patient and open-minded attention, for its theme is nothing other than the 5/5(3).

Elias Aslaksen’s introduction to the book “I am crucified with Christ” starts like this: “It is one thing that Christ was crucified, but it is quite another thing that we are crucified, just as it is one thing that He did God’s will, but quite another thing that we should do it.

The Church Being Christ; PREFACE. This book, composed of fourteen messages given by Brother Witness Lee in Taipei, Taiwan, in the summer ofconcerns the crucified Christ as the secret to Christian living and growth in life and as the way for God to accomplish His eternal purpose.
The Gospel of Christ Crucified offers a biblical reconstruction of the principal elements that make up the apostolic gospel.
Assuming a first-century Jewish worldview, the apostles understood the death of Jesus primarily in sacrificial terms for the atonement of sins. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh Sin is anything that goes against God’s will and His laws.
To commit sin is to transgress or disobey these laws. The lust to sin dwells in human nature. In other words, it is contaminated and motivated by the sinful. Paul and the Crucified Christ in Antioch offers an interesting interpretation of Paul's account of and response to this 4/5(1). I remember well my first reaction to the publication of Jürgen Moltmann’s The Crucified God.1 It is one thing to speak of the crucified Christ, but the claim of a crucified God seemed quite prepos-terous.
Reading it stretched my then quite narrow theological horizons further than almost every other theological book I have read since.Inappropriate for me to say, but I did like it a lot.
I did write it after all; and having written it, I will be unable to rate it. I will say this, however: The term, "JESUS CHRIST, AND HIM CRUCIFIED", is the Christian gospel condensed in a phrase.
